My name is Dr. Travis Musich (he/him) and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist that works with individuals who feel disconnected from themselves and others due to traumatic experiences or mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship struggles. Clients often come to me for psychotherapy because they are seeking a judgment-free space to explore their inner world and process emotions that feel overwhelming or unclear. My expertise lies in creating a calm, empathic environment where you can develop self-awareness, find relief, and embrace your authentic self.
As a member of the queer community, I understand that entering therapy can be incredibly daunting, especially if you've had negative encounters with healthcare providers and therapists that left you feeling misunderstood, dismissed, or even hurt. Despite their intentions, some therapists cause pain rather than promote healing, offering unhelpful guidance, excessive advice, or a lack of genuine listening. This is a common experience for people from marginalized groups who have endured trauma. Drawing from both my personal journey and my professional experiences, I want you to know that your fears and reservations are valid. Profound healing and transformation often emerge from the sense of being truly seen and deeply understood by others. I believe that everyone is capable of healing and growth when they are accepted for who they truly are.
With over 15 years of experience working in mental health, I bring deep expertise in person-centered therapy to help clients connect with their inner wisdom and strength. During my training in Clinical Psychology, I specialized in trauma, anxiety, LGBTQ+ affirmative care, and serious mental illness. Using empathy and compassion, I create a judgment-free space for you to process unclear or overwhelming emotions and experiences. My goal is to help you embrace all aspects of yourself, staying attuned to your unique needs and integrating techniques and resources tailored specifically to you. As we work together, I will hold space for you to transform extremely challenging experiences into opportunities for post-traumatic growth.
Many of my clients have described therapy as the place where they felt truly heard and understood for the first time in their lives. I consider it an honor to bear witness as you reconnect with your natural capacity for healing. Therapy gives you the space to develop greater resilience, self-awareness, positive self-regard, and the tools to help you thrive.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Illinois and Wisconsin, and I am a PSYPACT ® Authorization Holder (APIT #20958) which grants me the authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology in 42 participating states. You can verify my authorization at www.verifypsypact.org and find a list of participating states using the PSYPACT® Map.
